I don't really blame Tei for feeling this way at all. I feel like he wants to be someone special to Shuraka, but is also trying to be realistic based on what he knows about the kingdom. In the beginning Tei was basically a glorified bodyguard when he was suddenly kicked out. Now he's back, but he doesn't really know Shuraka at all, so he sees this as nothing but obligation which is why he's so resigned with everything going on ex: the concubines/ marriage. We see it too when he basically gives his body up to Shuraka even to the point of even hurting himself. ┗( T﹏T )┛ I'm interested to see how they really develop feelings for each other and how Tei will allow himself to view this as a romantic relationship.
