the 'angst' itself is caused by the past that mc is unaware about.
as we know, he entered this universe and its obvious haeyool knows him from the past, which is confirmed when they spend the day together (ch26). now the reason haeyool says dojoon kills people is because of "og" Jaewon (he's referred to as yeseong in the novel). in the past when dojoon and haeyool were younger, og jaewon was their math tutor and im not sure but i believe he was supposed to be older than them. haeyool became attached very quickly while dojoon liked og jaewon quitely and from afar. og jaewon was very depressed as he was sick in the hospital and was on life support and didn't want to live anymore, but he really cared for both of them, which led to him explaining his reasons for wanting to die to dojoon and stated if he saw haeyool, he'd probably want to live. he then basically kills himself in front of dojoon by asking him to pull his life support, which traumatized him, and led to a huge misunderstanding. haeyool believes that dojoon killed og jaewon and resents him, even though og jaewon wanted them to rely on each other. when mc finds this out (I don't remember how), he thinks dojoon doesnt really love him, but only likes him because he looks like yeseong, which isnt true. this leads to mc telling dojoon when he goes back to school " i will never like you" and dojoon grabs him, saying, "go ahead and try if u can". mc stops going to school, avoids everyone, and constantly cries. mc goes outside crying and walking around, near a bridge known for people jumping off of to commit suicide, which leads to a funny misunderstanding where a woman thinks he going to jump off and she makes a huge scene for no reason, it ends up online and one of mls friends sees mc and tells him to rush over cause mc is going to off himself and dojoon shows up and everything gets resolved. sorry that was alot :(
