just started this nd loving it so far but it really got me thinking that the concept of "freeter" barely exists nowadays in North America. it was a concept that was erased past the 2010s with the housing market and cost of living rising. Nobody can only work min wage part time and be able live in their own apt like hiroto (even if tiny and old) and afford food. If there are any freeters nowadays they probably have like 6 roommates and use the food bank or are straight up homeless and turn to drugs
