i felt the same during my first read. i just re-read it now and idk if it was because i already knew what would happen, but it felt different this time. maybe i was just delusional or who knows.
i'd say (if you want ofc) to wait for a while and then try re-reading it to see if your perspective changes?
I don't think so I think he's kind of an obsessive character specially if you re-read the dialogues even from their first encounter up to the recent ones. Brotha out here talking about locking up the restorer

Sometimes when I read a new story for the first time, it doesn't feel special yk?? Like it could be good story but it's not something I would consider to put a high rating. But then once I reread, I immediately love it so much and wonder "Why did I only rate this 4 stars?"
