yyeah.. I'm a broke ass college student so.. i wouldn't be able to cough up money to read online comics either way so it's not like the author is missing out on my money in specific; however since comics and art are a handmade craft(also as an artist) like... i fr get the anger, literally can't fault them at all even with my bias as someone who reads on these sites super often
(that being said everyone go pirate tf outta disney and amazon movies and whatnot they fr do not need any more money and often the creators who put the work into it do NAWT get paid)
ngl im an artist too so I understand the importance of being paid for your craft but that will never make me believe in the propoganda that is pay to read sites, and especially one of all sites for comics being the main publisher/provider (aHEEEM Lezh*n) of certain comics or genres from mainly east asian coutries.Hold up let me cook(I can also go on with more named creditionals in critisms of paying to read i.e. shounen jump creators/viz/crunchyroll/mangadex and how the current state of comic industry has to a lot to do with the deceit of the public and fans, dishonesty from publications and robbery of art and the abuse of the artist/writers they are contracted with.) Dont let this pirate outrage from inside the house fool you bcs the reason why the comics frieren and one punch man are on serialized hiatus boycotting shogakukan franchise or website equivalent manga one in light recent contraversy I wont mention on here has a lot do with the way these air quotations "services" propagate their lucrative advances onto consumers and into the overseas markets crossing ethical barriers to do so.
We all know one company having margins upon margins of profit in one thing and owning the rights to monoplise and comidify under that product allowing no one else to do the same is called a monoply, so why can't it be considered so in this case too. Number#1 legal provider for anime in western countries for all i know is cruncyroll that bought out all aniplex and funimation into their own lucrative corporate chain that supports the morden evil we all know as the country that shall not be named. Dont you often think that lezhl*n is like this but with south korean bl serving as a platform for all "legal" transaction and cosumption of bl done under their terms? Same with manga one and all serialized manga software. IF we give these companies the ability to do as the please because they are the only pathaway to get foreign media they are subject to becoming the second crunchyroll /"Black rock". I often think the creation of homogneous sites like this or internet archive, a03 serve as a resistance against hyper-monetization and eradication of the media we hold dear. To me its a form of conservationism against theft from the artist and writers i love but thats just my way of seeing it.

Can someone explain to me the link between the manhwa and the downfall of batoto?
