Ok so basically at the beginning of the story, the Duke said he felt like he’d seen Jarn somewhere before, and this is why…
In an alternate timeline/past life, they knew each other, but their relationship at some point grew sour due to their different perspectives and caused Jarn a lot of pain.
Fenrir is the entity that saved Jarn from drowning as a child, and I think has sort of been following him around and watching over him his whole life. When he found Jarn suffering with the Duke, he somehow granted him the opportunity to essentially “start things over” from before he met the Duke.
Jarn has always been wondering about his aunt in both timelines, and his childhood remained the same. But I guess fate led him back to the Duke, this time giving him a second chance to form their relationship.
I can’t get too specific because I still struggle to understand the motivation of the plot , but this is a vague outline of what’s happened in the recent chapters…. Probably
