It’s a good story with a unique take on a plot that is very common. The worldbuilding is strong and engaging, and it was enough to keep me reading until the end. However, my main drawback is the MC. He comes across as a selfish prick, where his own goals and curiosity consistently take priority over everything else. He even has the chance to reunite with his family but still chooses to pursue his personal ambitions instead. Not only does he deprioritize his family, but even the friends he makes along the way are treated the same way. They separate without much emotional weight, and he doesn’t seem particularly concerned because his goal always comes first. Overall, the story is still compelling due to its concept and worldbuilding, but the character direction of the MC can make it harder to stay emotionally invested. You should read it because your opinion may differ from me and you'll miss out a unique story like this.
