What I understand:
1. He was born with too much power to carry and it would eventually burn through him and kill Jim early. His parents were desperate for a way to save him from that fate.
2. The Shaman foretold someone will be born in 5 years to absorb all his misfortune. FL was born. They are now bound by fate so she feels like she belongs to him and he feels at ease around her.
3. To keep her existence a secret and use her as a talisman for their son, they kept her at the shaman’s temple where she’s spent her entire life. Once a year, he goes to the temple to sleep for a night. As far as he was concerned, it’s a ritual his parents insist on and even though he hates the temple, he still follows what’s asked of him because strangely enough, whenever he does there, he’s able to sleep. This implies that he normally cannot sleep for long.
4. They don’t drug him. He naturally sleeps because she’s there. Her face is always hidden in case he wakes up and this was the first time he woke up while she was there (I think he was pretending to sleep though). So they’ve done it for years and never met.
5. They meet for the first time (since they were kids) when he finds her on his family’s hunting grounds and she runs away and they begin their whole “hunting game” they’ve been having from the start.
4. She ran away thinking he was a stranger who literally chased her all the way to the temple, but then realized he was the man she’d been watching sleep for years. She was all up in her feelings about that because she’d imagined him as some kind of Prince Charming who made her feel happy and warm only for him to turn out to be the man who got her all riled up earlier that day.
5. He didn’t know everything until the shaman told him after he found the FL in his room. Only his parents knew everything and now they’re scared he’ll be tied to her since she’s essentially carrying his misfortune so that’s why they don’t want them together.
6. I’m betting the Shaman does want their fates to be entwined the way it is that’s why she essentially leaves them to do whatever.
I personally can’t wait for her to leave that place and stand in her own two feet. If chapter 0 taught us anything (since it’s set in the future), it’s that she won’t be used and manipulated this entire story.
Im not sure if its the panel / speech bubbles that are making this so confusing but wtf hapoened on 4-6 ch? Anyone can summarise? She sleeps on the same room as him at the temple 4 times a year to absorb his bad luck but he has never seen his face before? And he has been drugged every time he goes there so he doesn't wake up? Since they were children? So this time he woke up and she run away (why?) and the lady shaman saw all this and just let him go find her and then disappeared? And why can't he see her again? I mean didn't he see her as a baby? He knew she existed right? Why can he tell anyone he saw her? And the lady shaman knows that they know? What's going on
