Marxism perchance ??

I’m only on chapter 12 but omfg this deals with so many topics like class inequality, exploitation, and desperation to survive (like with Jean in his years as a catamite) with the seriousness they deserve, which is unfortunately very rare in manhwa. The POV is done amazingly, like you can feel the care put into every panel. Jean is like one of the few characters that can make my heart ache in both a good and bad way. Also, this was probably done unintentionally, but there’s a few themes of Marxism in here as well!! The class divide between the ruling and working class serve as a catalyst for the revolution Jean (part of the working class/proletariat) is planning, which is extremely similar to the class divide and inevitable proletarian revolution talked about in Marxism. Also, realizing he’s being exploited and that his employers don’t gaf about him is a huge part of Jean’s resentment towards the ruling class/bourgeoisie — Jean achieving class consciousness! this most likely happened at a large scale considering there’s a bunch of people in on the revolution. I have no idea what I’m talking about also they’re really hot !!!!!!!!!

Like adding onto the Marxist themes, there’s a bit more that really preaches it (at least to me). First, Marxism talks about alienation of the worker from the product, as they don’t own the product, control the labor process, and feel more like a machine than human — this ties in with how Jean talks about the dissociation between him (the worker) and his body/sex (the product). He doesn’t control how the ‘process’ of sex, nor does he own his sexuality (by this point at least). The only person benefiting is the employer. The second (or fourth thing??) is the labor theory and exploitation. Jean is bought for less than the expectation of the ‘services’ he’s supposed to provide — like how under a capitalist society (like Jean states so many times) employers underpay their workers compared to the value of the product they’re expected to make. im in no way an expert on any of this stuff!! So please correct me if I'm wrong on anything!!
