Read without reading the passion

you might feel clueless when they were talking about Xinlu past with Tay and Ilay but I think you could read it without reading the passion ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

to catch you up on the stuff you need to know for passion: xinlu (seme here) and tay (taeui; uke and mc in main passion were a thing for a while. they used to work at what essentially is a secret agent training base and tay was recruited by his uncle who is an officer there. tay’s twin brother has gone missing and he wants to track him down and this favor aligns with what he wants kinda. he’s trained to be a field agent bc of his military background. xinlu was on the administrative side and he wasn’t as tall as he is now more on the cute side and happened to be tay’s type. had a some type of relationship where they flirted etc. unfortunately for everyone involved is a beautiful psychopath named ilay (seme and ml in main passion) who got obsessed with tay. xinlu picked up on it early on and tried to stop it by striking up a deal with ilay. if he sleeps with ilay then ilay will stop making advances on tay (or something along the lines. it’s been forever since i read) and ilay agrees. tay finds out like he literally sees them in action and yeah it stung but what hurt most was xinlu trying to manipulate things behind his back so they basically broke it off. but xinlu was quite hung up on tay bc what they had between them was a good thing.

fast forward. xinlu finds tay and helps him as he’s trying to locate his brother in africa (after escaping ilay. the details are fuzzy here and i’m not rereading passion to fact check so take my words with a dollop of salt). there’s a pretty sad scene where tay lets xinlu know clearly that whatever they had is over and the possibility for the revival is nonexistent. very bittersweet bc their love was written in that first love gentleness. unfortunately tay gets kidnapped by the same person keeping his brother. ilay thinks it was xinlu who kidnapped tay and in his rage the two fight by the beachside (xinlu thought that killing ilay would bring tay back to his side) and xinlu loses one of his eyes in the fight. before it can escalate i believe yuri (mc and uke of this one) put a stop to it.

yuri is there bc he works for ilay’s brother’s company. and that should hopefully explain the artistic panels in the prologue i think. but honestly i think this artist did well in giving enough info without having to dive into passion but then again my opinion might be skewed bc i have read passion. i hope this helps????

I actually dropped passion halfway and now im reading this. I don't think it's that hard to follow. I definitely like this story better.

Yes you can. I didn’t really read passion either. I mean I did read Passion but it was boring and too toxic so o slipped about eight chapters and dropped it. I’m a bit confused on some scenes too but it’s still okay
