Right i wonder what made him do it, maybe he didnt plan on it and the curse was directed at him? And out of panic he decided to leave it choosing himself over a friend? but....curses can be pretty specific so unless he tricked it.... he mightve actually had a grudge probably unrequited love turned sour given that its a bl lol or jealousy over his life as previously mentioned
It's so obvious That serious friend who went to the bathroom was probably behind this because also he came from a funeral of his friends mom and the ghost we see was a lady so he must have carried that ghost in that doll or smth
