Trust me I get that this isn’t the most tasteful story regarding SA and rape but it also doesn’t take that topic lightly. Saying you wish there wasn’t any SA… so that’s actually what the story is about. I’d agree if the whole thing didn’t revolve around a rape incident. In other yaoi the SA is thrown in while adding and changing literally nothing (often it isnt even mentioned after) but I thought the fact that it was taken seriously and affected the rest of the story makes it actually worth including since it’s part of the artistic vision.
I also think Motoki got over everything a little easily and quickly but he never treated it like something it wasn’t (most of the time the victim in yaoi says smn like “it was my fault bc I didn’t get it…” or “we slept together why did I do that…” but even though Motoki regrets how he maybe wasn’t being the best friend, he didn’t blame himself for the assault or betrayal.
Tbh this just wasn’t a fluffy romance that one might read for their regular yaoi hit but I think it has merit in its own way
