arguably, horoscopes and astrology doesn’t hurt anyone and isn’t based on highkey abelist/racist shit like judging someone’s fate/life from their face.. someone with say- facial paralysis or a genetic condition which causes “ill-fortuned” facial features would be given the short end of the stick for simply existing outside of traditional facial norms. this author is basically saying that if you aren’t blessed with beauty, you’re cursed with ugliness and will probably commit crimes.
also yeah, religion is complete hogwash which was created to explain natural phenomena and answer questions we as a species were too scared and/or lacked the knowledge to answer (how humans got here, what happens when we die, why does the sun/moon rise, what causes weather, etc). science has explained literally all of those phenomena, and religion nowadays is basically a safety blanket for people, who feel comfort looking to the divine to solve their problems

*EDIT* This story makes it very obvious when someone is good or evil by making the villains less than desirable looking. That's what my title meant. I felt the story made it way too obvious with the art almost as if to say beautiful people are good and ugly people are bad. Which of course is not true in real life. Even the supposed re-married wife, it was almost comical how easily you can guess who is good and who is bad in this story.
Honestly I remembered I dropped this story a long time ago because the "saju" thing is such hogwash. Same thing as horoscopes and astrology, and dare I say even religion. But I do like that they admit it isn't always what determines how your life turns out, it's how your actions truly determine your outcome.
She knows the date of birth of Ophelia how come she's never tried to see if she is even alive?
