I'm sorry but the fl has a pathetic mindset, just bc you didn't love him doesn't make his disrespect okay. she's such a people pleaser, and as always people pleaser do things they think will benefit (or not inconvenience) others, without taking what others want into account and that's not actually how you "please" people. someone refusing help that someone else wants to and is offering bc they don't want to inconvenience the other and thus continue suffering is just hurting the other person bc now they have to see them suffer eventho they want to help
