I think it's because ml gets possessive & obsessive of mc, plus it's Canon that he has a crush on mc so of course ppl are gonna ship them, honestly for me though? I saw it as one sided, like ml being the only one being attracted and attentive to mc, but I do think the drama plays a part as well, there's more tension between them there, I suggest checking it out.
