The amount of people in this comment section that are begging Amber to bottom and Tennessee to Top is insane. I mean Amber is still recovering from his years of sexual abuse by Hurston. Bottoming would just re-traumatize him. He was abused from behind while bent over, and that’s usually how bottoming starts. I mean go back and reread how he totally froze up when Tennessee tried to finger him. I mean his past trauma is really the whole reason why he isn’t the bottom. And, if the author ever try’s switching them, I would be deeply concerned. It just wouldn’t make sense.

Completely agree, it would require them to first seek therapy (which I would WISH them to do lmao) but it would be an habile way to re-orientate their relationship with a soft healing scene of Amber actually feeling safe enough around Tennessee, and kinda overcoming a part of his past. Just wishful thinking tho!

Yea, in order to recover from that trauma going to therapy would be a great start, but it would definitely take more than that, including years of time. I simply just don’t see that happening in the plot as it would only make sense in the far out future. But, you never know. Some authors do put in a time jump into the future to see how the couple is then. It’s just rare and unlikely in many cases. But, I guess you can always be hopeful, like you said.
