Seeing her getting back with Edric after everything made me so sad (I took a peek at the latest chapters). 3 years passed and it appeared like he was still the same selfish, self-centered asshole he was before she left. It feels like all the guy knows truly is how to manipulate his way through everything. If he really wanted the FL to be happy, I don't think he'd have forced his way back into her life after seeing how much more self-satisfied, confident, and free she became after leaving him. The only reason he was persistent was for his own gain, his own comfort, and his own sense of familiarity.
It's not like Fran was the perfect guy either, he was acting with ulterior motives himself and did a few questionable things as well. It might just be that compared to Edric, he was relatively better. At the very least, though, he knew where they stood and respected her for it. He gave her free reign over what she wanted to do and let her work for the things she wanted as well. He wasn't a good guy, but he was as good as he could be to her.
I don't think there's hateful things I could say about the FL. Sure, there could have been better choices earlier on, but I can't blame her for being so blinded by her affection for a person she practically spent her whole life with. It's especially difficult to accept that someone you grew up with, admired, and loved is a horrible person. I just wish she didn't come back. But I don't know what else happened between 45-69, so I guess this doesn't hold much weight.
That's all! It entertained me for a while, but I started feeling upset and sick reading it so I don't think I'll continue, LOL. Happy reading to those who choose to!
