honestly, phos’ character is just so tragic. all he ever wanted to do was be loved and be useful to the other gems around him without ever rlly thinking abt what he wanted for himself. what really broke me was when he went down to earth for the last time and he was full of hatred :(( its such a stark contrast to the phos we met on chapter 1 T-T but i guess everything does change, for better or worse and in the end phos did become useful to everyone, just at the expense of his own happiness ;(
and also his character rlly reminds me of a dilemma that goes “say that you have a ship, due to different problems, you have to replace all its parts until there were no remnants of the original ship left, will it still be the same ship then? or is it completely different?”
