i know what the author said but i feel like cliff deserved better. to me i feel like he wasn't all that interested being the heir. like the author said he'd had everything handed to him and was suppose to be a typical obsessive dark romance ml but he wasn't even in a dark romance, so it was unfair that his story ended with him becoming abusive in a world he didn't even understand or have any power in. he helped the fake rhyse because he was in love with her and he was also bound by the system. everyone had their happy ending, he just loved the wrong person and wanted to be with them. the author made it seem he had helped do bad things but really how was he any worst than the duke and duchess? they punished him unfairly, and the author said he wouldn't leave because his setting was to be an obsessive ml, so imagine an obsessive ml with nothing and no way out of his settings.
Please read the novel, I feel like you see Edith’s pain better and cliff gets a happy ending in it. It did a good job in explaining that the true villain was the author.
