Believe it or not but that’s how it has been even with the most ancient BLs out there. MLM/Yaoi is a form of “Forbidden Love” themed romance genre, with the concept “Forbidden” being taken, authors push that limit and include other taboo elements like incest, age-gap, rape, etc. for those who can enjoy the thrill of what’s “forbidden” without guilt bc it’s fiction and nobody would ever do those irl. It’s ingrained (unfortunately), either you learn to avoid these and read what you actually like or get desentisize to it bc it’s literally fiction and it does nothing irl, even if something did happen that isn’t the author nor the series’ fault/responsibility bc this is a form of entertainment and it’s not to be taken seriously and as so, if you’re not entertained, find something else in this ocean full of media, there’s going to be at least one you’d like that you never have to look at another thing you’d hate.
