I think it is fetishized because compared to chapter two, consent is unclearly given in the beginning, taken away in the middle, but still has the art style depiction of a standard smut scene. In chapter 14 however, we don’t get uke consent at all. The disclaimer doesn’t actually have give any warning of no consensual sex or SA or rape. Even through the seme’s perception with the red background the uke looks the same and has the same facial expression. It’s depicted to be more traumatizing for the seme to see the uke than for the uke to experience it and that makes no sense. Because of the little distinction in the scene it is portrayed to be the same smut even though it’s clear this uke didn’t want this to happen. Granted, this is an omegaverse fantasy story and mistranslations happen so this take comes with a huge grain of salt, but you can’t mistake the art depiction. Or at least that’s my take. Anyways, I’m curious to know why you think it wasn’t?
He was drugged and wasn't conscious of what was happening to him so of course his face is gonna be weird for the situation. And you're saying he's not traumatized enough cause he didn't seem scared after waking up?? Did you happen to forget that he woke up to Jade literally about to die right in front of him?? He didn't have time to grieve what just happened to him because they were both still in danger of dying, the guy with the guns not gonna give him time to cry his eyes out from being assaulted
Of course I’m not policing Oje’s response to his trauma. And I haven’t read the most recent chapter. My point isn’t about whether the scene makes sense in the story, it’s about how it’s visually presented and the choices the author made to portray that. He was fully aware before he was drugged yet, the framing and art style are still very similar to other smut scenes, even through Jade’s eyes. Which is why it feels fetishized to me. I’m still not understanding your interpretation of this not being fetishization, but I guess it’s just an agree to disagree kind of situation.
And im not sure how else you expected it be be drawn. Rape is still sex so of course it's still gonna look like a sex scene, why did you think it wouldnt?? Not all sexual assault cases are overwhelmingly violent, lots of them are just like this. At this point im convinced yall don't know what fetishization looks like :/
Rape is not sex. But you did actually tell me why you think it isn’t fetishization, not by anything you said, but you did show me your view. I do gotta say as a survivor, I’m disappointed. I believe you yourself aren’t clear on what fetishization is or how it harms. I’ll leave the conversation here.
I was halfway through writing a response when I realized why you're not understanding me :/ I have alexithymia and I struggle a lot with reading other people emotions and facial expressions or understanding them without context, so I cant tell how drawn characters are feeling either unless they have overexaggerated facial expressions or explicitly state it. And I just now realized that that for some reason extends to scenes like this. Like, without context a lot of these kinda scenes would just look like regular smut scenes to me, but since we had context for this one I was confused on why people were reacting like that because I didn't understand how else they thought it should be portrayed. I didn't realize until just now that normal people don't read it like that, so that's my fault, sorry.
Thank you for explaining, that actually helps me understand where you were coming from. I think we were just approaching it from really different perspectives. I’m more sensitive to how things are visually framed, so when there isn’t a clear distinction it feels off to me. Also, I’m sorry my last message came off harsh that wasn’t my intention.

It’s not like this kind of rape fetishization is new, it’s kinda like a staple of common BL manhwas either from the seme or somebody else; but for some reason ch.14 just irks me…I got to drop this. Not that the rape fetish is ok in any of the other stories it’s just this one in this chapter is jarring
