I understood the plot point just fine. My issue isn’t with the reason he came, it’s with how the author is using it. They’re clearly trying to revive a love triangle that didn’t need to exist in the first place. A love interest isn’t the only reason for someone to help you unconditionally.
What I’m saying is, it would’ve been better if they’d just become friends or acquaintance like the merchant girl MC helped, or her best friend.

Then that’s why you thought it was a revival. It’s not. He may still like her but he’s not pursuing her anymore. He just genuinely wants to help someone he likes and respects. The author isn’t doing anything and he didn’t come on his own either. ML asked him to come. There’s no revival. They aren’t fighting for the right to be by her side, they are just being by her side in different ways ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Why did the pink haired dude even come back stop pushing the love triangle that doesn't need to exist in the first place
