Exactly, it's a total turn off when they do that. Really makes it seem like the author just likes the IDEA of a boy with another boy in a romantisexual way but not as two queer people in love. Like dude, you're getting with another man and you're saying you're straight?? No!!! You are anything but straight
LITERALLY!!!! It literally does not matter if said character was straight before, if you have feelings for a man YOU ARE GAY plain and simple. It’s clear that authors like the idea of straight man x gay man even in the way they write the characters personalities, it often gives “toxic straight man.” I think some of authors just want to profit off of queer literature and they don’t actually care about queer people
Technically makes them demisexual which is fine but also, it IS another label. I do wish more formerly straight guys would admit to being bisexual or demisexual. I don’t mind them saying “I didn’t realise I could go for men until I met you!” Because it’s true that for those of us who are bi/demi/pan, we do have a point in time where we see someone of a specific gender/sex and say “wow! I could be with that person” and it starts a sexual awakening lol but to just say “I couldn’t do it with another man but you! You are weirdly feminine so you’re fine!” is just a whole femboy fetish that’s gross.

Sigh...what's up with authors making their characters go "oh I like girls but ___ is an exception! Gay porn doesn't turn me on I just like ___!!" It gives me the ick smh and the way there's atleast one scene where the seme tries to do something to uke in his sleep
