the misunderstanding in backlight was caused by seo-in’s step brother, someone who wanted them separated. Not because of a “weird” thing, he beat up yeongwoon so bad he couldn’t go see seo-in before leaving for 3 months in highschool, and when yeongwoon did try to leave a message seo-in’s mother didn’t approve it and seo-in thought for 10 years straight that yeongwoon had abandoned him for no reason. Then yeongwoon decided to move on with the money that his father got from seo-in’s family trying to cover up the incident.
And the reason why seo-in was a manwhore was because he took his habits from his stepbrother jaewon (that was literally quite explained) then yes, its true they meet up again and seo-in starts treating yeongwoon bad, because he always thought he abandoned him not knowing his family was behind it all.
Now you tell me if in this manhwa the ml’s family also did those things? i thought backlight’s plot was very clear on how seo-in’s stepbrother leads to it all and is the problem that connects everything but i guess not
