I finished the story and I liked it. I left that comment right after.
I just don't like the 'im just a minor character ' trope. It happens so often now.

The dumbest part is that she keeps thinking she's a minor character. If the church is holding you hostage and siphoning off your power don't you think you're more than minor character? And then there's Nadan, the divine fat owl.
I just don't like this cliche.
