Ahh... this one is complicated, but I'll give it 5 stars anyway. To begin, there are three main couples. You probably found out about this manhwa because you saw there was a relationship of an old grandpa-looking man with a younger man. However, little do you know, the two of them only appear prominently in the third season, which is the current season.
The first season focuses on an age-gap couple, Cinaed and Albin. Cinaed has known Albin since Albin was a child, and Cinaed was an adult himself. That is one of the main controversial aspects of their love story. Cinaed saves Albin from being abused (and sexually exploited) by his biological uncle. He brings him into his new estate, and the first season entails their love story, along with several smut scenes. I wouldn't pin their relationship as bad exactly...while several smut scenes felt uncomfortable, it was because they explored Albin's sexual trauma. Cinaed helps him heal, and Albin goes from a sickly, scared boy, to a healthy and enthusiastic man.
The second season, my favorite season, focuses on Yexing (Cinaed's butler/servant) and Lord Shahid (Cinaed's best friend of high status). However...their relationship is equally controversial...Once again, there is an age-gap where Shahid has known Yexing since he was a child. He also took Yexing in as a child. However, I love them because of their dynamic and personalities. It is incredibly refreshing. Yexing is a Chinese boy, who is calm, reserved, and mature. Shahid is more carefree, but very strong and serious when he needs to be. Shahid, as a 'Lord,' frequently has sex with other men and women. However, he only has eyes for Yexing, who refuses his advances. Shahid thinks it's because Yexing has feelings for Cinaed, but that isn't true. Yexing thinks that Shahid is trying to play him, and use him as a toy as Shahid has done with the other individuals he has sex with. Little does he know, that Shahid does all that to get his attention, and is actually passionately in love with him. In short, Yexing is a raging tsundere. Oh, it's also controversial because Shahid, while not in the right state of mind, "r4ped" Yexing in the past. It's hard to explain without spoilers. It was dark, and Shahid thought Yexing--who entered Shahid's room to check on him--was one of his fuck buddies. He was intoxicated, and had no clue that it was Yexing, until he finds out later. It's hard to explain their relationship and characters in depth without giving too many spoilers. However, I really, REALLY, love their story...and Yexing getting off to Shahid's robes is one of my all-time favorite manhwa scenes...ehe. Their relationship is so good~
Anyways, on to Owen and Durant... the two you've been waiting for. You see, they're actually Uncle and Nephew. I'm pretty sure they're not actually biologically related..? But the uncle, Owen, has known Durant, his nephew, ever since he was a child. In fact, Durant used to really look up to him before he went TOTALLY PSYCHO. Durant now molests his uncle shamelessly and is very, very obsessed with him. He has sex with his fuck buddy and leaves the door open for his uncle to see. His uncle is very reserved and tries to tell Durant that this is WRONG and WEIRD. Honestly, I love the uncle because he's super sexy, smart, mature, has a bunch of beauty marks all over him, and has really juicy thighs. This is the most gorgeous old man I've seen. Um, anyways, Durant continues to become yandere over Owen, and the story is still progressing.
Anyways, I really love the art in this manhwa. It's stunning. You can tell the artist puts in a lot of effort in every panel. It's quite story-heavy (I had to reread the first chapter a few times to understand what was going on) and political. The relationships are definitely controversial, but they are all fleshed out. You get attached to one couple after the next. The characters are unique, and somewhat likeable. There are many reasons to give it fewer stars, but just as many reasons to rate it higher. I'll give it a 5.
