I mean he was never established to have a “fatherly role” just because he brought him like food and made sure he was alive since he was like idk 12 or something, we just have to assume he never took a paternal bond/role. And idk if that’s worse than the guy who killed ur mom either way girl… like no… he killed ur mom in front of u.. that’s def worse. Like I was expecting him to be the ML at the beginning and don’t mind a toxic ML or character arc… but we ain’t gonna act like that’s ethically better…
