Why do I do this to myself?

I don't like how the comments are saying it's sad. What is sad?! Here I am to destroy my mental health once again. Please hold my hand while I read this

Right off the bat, his friend pmo. Like why tf would you ask if he's his type? Making it seem like sa isn't a big problem just cause it happens daily. I'm already heated

Hmm... Lots of u loose strings in this story. Never seen the aftermath of the abuser's mother and sister. Never got to see ANY of the abusers locked up or even k*lled. But that's realistic too cause it happens irl unfortunately and sadly. I was hoping Boris' sister and Sehyun would sit down and share their trauma and povs after their sa. They kinda did, but it was really surface level. Side characters had little development tbh. Nothing else happened with the girl who sa Boris, which is weird. Oh and that twin sister suddenly said some wise words to Boris' sister which was hypocritical of her. Wished she would reflect on her views first before telling how Boris' sister should live with Sehyun in their life. There were small time skips and also the story felt a bit rushed. Oh and almost everyone was like let's just be happy and think about tomorrow but not really actually help him recover. It was frustrating to see.

But I do love how realistic the author shows the trauma and psychological response and abuse that victims face. And the fact that abusers get away with it. And no, an apology does not take away the victim's pain and suffering. But they should still apologize and face consequences cause their victim's life is changed by their abuse. I do also love that Sehyun gets to hope, see and experience a life filled with care, love and gradually see his self worth. It's very possible for that to happen. And I also Boris for unconditionally loving Sehyun and being that person to show him what love and sex really look and feel like. Omg, can't forget how the author portrayed the different types of people we see and do irl. Some people stereotype others who live like Sehyun (Twin sister, they're up to no good, they're dangerous, they're trash when they're really suffering because of the cruel world and perpetrators), the bystander effect (Boris, the twin brother) and how that made them want to change, while some never change. And some others who don't know what people are like behind closed doors and only believe what they hear. And I love the ending where Tracy, another victim, gets acknowledged and remembered. It's really sad. Victims like Tracy needs their voices to be heard too. I love that she's going the first one dedicated to in Sehyun's book. Overall, I would say I liked it, despite the things I didn't like about it. It's especially a unique one cause it touches on these heavy topics very genuinely but not deeply enough. 8/10 for me. And I will be purchasing Stigma on the official site. This one 100% deserves love and support. I do hope to see more of the author's works soon... But this was released in 2019 so idk if they will be releasing anything else any time soon - sooner. I'll definitely keep an eye on this author.

Oh forgot to mention that I did not enjoy seeing the abuser in the Christmas side story. It broke my heart when Sehyun was portrayes being sa next to a Christmas tree. He did not experience a joyful Christmas. Even though I didn't like it, I liked it for working as an effective foil, showing the truth and contrast between Boris' and Sehyun's experience.

Also!!! I love that Boris and Sehyun got a dog to grow their little family. That's so cute.

I’m gonna read here first then also decide whether to buy on official. Have you read A Painter Behind the Curtain? Also on same official. If you haven’t read it I highly recommend. Imo a brilliant story, the characters are also realistic (human). I would say the story is not heavy more just drama with a great romance/love story.

You’ll deff enjoy reading! Such a nice ending too. Love when a story rounds off the main story with good closure so you can feel satisfied. Another rec; The King of Home Dating (also same site) if you haven’t read already. Not heavy but drama too; this author has a sense of humour I enjoy

I'm crying who is this site always cutting my comments. I'll add it to the list as well. And I should give you recs but I didn't categorize any of the ones I've read. Plus you already have over 200 reads, so you're probably reading them all anyways. And yes, I do know how to purchase steamy versions. I learned that the hard way after purchasing cut versions

    STUFF May 22, 2026 5:33 pm

If you ever do read something you feel like sharing please do! Always grateful :)
I hope you enjoy both these recs, TKOHD deserves way more love!
Glad to know you learned - sorry it was the hard way

You made me think I should categorise my list as well….. over 200….. fuuuuuuck. I keep meaning to remove stories I lost interest in but deleting never works on my phone so I have to log in on the laptop which I hardly ever do. Should definitely create say a top 25 list or something .

    STUFF May 22, 2026 5:39 pm

Holy shit I actually have a top reads list…. When did I do that I’m going to need to sit down and organise…. Another day ;P
