i see a lot of people are confused why yeon wanted kihoon to forget and kihoon agreeing so easily. but i think this decision makes a lot of sense

since yeon made a wish to the rock, kihoon faced misfortune BOTH in the first life and second life. in this second life, kihoon lost the opportunity to be a national athlete due to his accident. and he was traumatized by it that he understood that his misfortune could affect anyone that was with him. he was so scared that any similar incident could reoccur and yeon happened to be there and got hurt, or worst, dead (which HAPPENED in their first life). and yeon matters to him like nothing else, so he sacrifices anything that could trigger the misfortune from happening. THIS brought guilt to yeon, that he felt like he took away kihoon's chances to be the brightest star he could have been.

that's why, yeon wanted kihoon to forget about him, live his life without any worries about the misfortunes, be able to pursue the opportunity he could have had, and be the brightest star he should have been. kihoon understands that. plus i think he knows that if he rejects yeon's decision and continue their life retaining his memories, kihoon would still sacrifice and hold himself back, and that would EAT at yeon's guilt. retaining his memories will hurt yeon more. so kihoon, being himself who would do ANYTHING for yeon, agrees to that. knowing that this is what yeon wanted

so now, yeon seeing kihoon seizing his opportunity as national athelete and living his life to fullest, if the love starts now, there won't be any guilt in their relationship. otherwise, it would be hurtful relationship imo

but anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk
