Michel's father and royal friends sexually abused Ian for a long time. He's using "Ain" as a way for revenge against them using michel. At least that what I remember from another spoiler months back! I could be wrong.

Trying to remember more on it I think he was partnered with Michel's father and maybe liked him(?) but Michel's father being an awful person made him go through all that. (This might be a stretch, so don't really focus on this part.)
I assume it's just rich/royal people behavior and Ian was the victim of it all.

i read a spoiler on here a while back on how "Ain" is actually the duke but im just genuinely confused, if anyone knows why Ain is roleplaying as a servant instead of owning up to his identity to our MC can yall explain it to me in the replies:
