For a noble, he's quite naive in his thinking

Right.. it's like Tei has literally no experience, but the story says that he does. He's even slept around. It's a little contradicting.

I think that even though he has experience sexually, doesn’t mean he has experience emotionally and romantically so he’s bound to be clumsy in his actions when emotions are involved.

But he has to understand palace politics to survive as a noble, right?

I'm aware he can be naive romantically, but his characterization makes 0 sense with his background.

The basics of palace politics in many settings are basically the same. And yet he's depicted as a damsel in distress the moment he is in Arnata. It's ridiculous.

He has understanding of noble politics both of Leracal and Arnata. He doesn't yet understand that Shuraka isn't your typical Sheikh. Also, Tei has troubles navigating politics and his own feelings. He never had romantic feelings, so it's very new for him. He never was romantically cherished, so he doesn't even know what and how it is. And Shuraka being totally different than any Sheikh of Arnata before him is throwing everything off even more. Give the guys some slack and wait for them to talk it out. In Bwat we trust.
