Yes!! The chasing arc was soo dry i was fricking sad and disappointed i'm sorry for dohyun but that won't change the fact that he went behind wooyeons back with that bitch of a mother and i feel its gonna be on wooyeons too if he wants a good realationship w his mom idk cuz i just read a little after he forgiven dohyun cuz i was fucking agitated! Like he's been lying to you from the first time! For years!!!! And then you forgive him after one week??? Without really saying/doing anything that hurts dohyun? Hell nahh atp i'd even bring another love interest for wooyeon who doesnt lie to him so dohyun goes crazy that he might choose him cuz he would really be a great guy! Anyways im curios how it will look here in the manhwa but i wish they'd change that one week and the apologise thing
actually yeah thats the biggest sticking point for me. If the chasing arc had been better, more dramatic with dohyun having to like. genuinely sacrifice something to get wooyeon's trust and love back, i would have been fine, i would have been on board but ehhhh
read the novel in like 5 hours hoping that i would come out of it a Dohyun defender like some of you guys and I just... can't.
The novel's narrative is so cloying and use every single opportunity to hammer home "omg poor Dohyun!!!" over and over again that I just rolled my eyes at some point especially when what Wooyeon experienced is genuinely henious yet got swept aside so easily. Wooyeon apologizing for reacting badly to the revelation is CRAZY. Like, his life is the one getting torn apart, and the one person he loved and consider his safe space betraying him, with the whole revelation not even coming from Dohyun himself because for some fucking reason he chose to talk about all that with Wooyeon's crazy ass mother who he KNOWS Wooyeon suffered a lot with instead of immediately fessing up to Wooyeon first.
Like the plot twist of Dohyun being under Wooyeon's mom thumb itself is not bad. But the way that the author chose to go about it and handle the aftermath is genuinely so infuriating to me because so much of it is just one big pity party for Dohyun who ended up being forgiven in less than one week by Wooyeon anyway while the real victim of that whole situation just. Have to get over it because Dohyun is soooo nice and pitiful how can he not? And at that point I just realized that the narrative have no respect for Wooyeon as a character at all and I gave up.
So. TL, DR: I'm sure with his backstory you guys will find Dohyun pitiful and cheer for him when the time comes but I don't think I will
