She got punished so hard for a little white lie. Sure, if she lied to anyone else about their future, that would make her a bad witch. But it was a crime of innocence, not maliciousness.
It's amazing to think about who are friends and family could have been with different choices being made. I feel it is in character for her best girl friend to be this way, since they weren't introduced when they were younger and perhaps the crush hadn't taken root. Siki feels very off-character but since our MC never left the forest, she has no idea who they were outside of it.
