I can’t lie the first red flag it was gonna be shit story would be when he sexually assaulted the ice girl in the early chapters. (He did not have to kiss her to use the paralysis skill bro. He could’ve easily spat in her mouth or fed her his blood through a wound. Lazy writing to try and justify sa I’d say)
I’m honestly impressed by how a story with such a promising premise manages to go absolutely nowhere (I haven't read the novel but I probably could guess the pattern of it)
At first, I thought maybe I had dropped this too early the first time, so I decided to give it another chance. Turns out, my past self had far better judgment than I gave them credit for.
The protagonist is somehow both inconvenienced by everything and completely contradicting any action about it, which is certainly… a choice. His personality seems to shift depending on what the plot needs in the moment, so consistency is clearly not something the author was aiming for.
The female characters are especially memorable, in the sense that they all seem to exist solely to be attracted to the protagonist for reasons the story never bothers to justify. It’s almost admirable how every potentially interesting plot point gets immediately sidetracked by yet another forced romantic interaction.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get any more exhausting, the harem keeps expanding. At this point, it feels less like storytelling and more like the author collecting characters with no intention of developing any of them.
I really wanted this to get better, but apparently the story had other plans.
