she was also 14 in the novel. it was the fan translators' decision to make it 18 so that intl readers would be less icked out. also for a race with a long lifespan like the mermans, 200 yrs old is like a child to them.

I checked the censored version of the novel on JJWXC but couldn't find what you claimed. I probably didn't look at the right chapters.
She's considered a teen in a mermaid's life span. it was mentioned she just barely come of age at the point of the story.
i haven't read the censored version in jjwxc, but i'm assuming their ages were omitted in that chapter considering jjwxc's many censorship standards. this was the line from the raw of chapter 6, from the now deleted po18 version, also which the translator follows.

it clearly states 14 here.
whaaat? so it was change by the translator, guess i was tricked. and yeah, she said 200 years equivalent to 19 in human's age but still can't fathom such difference even with different species. there's still a huge gap between the two.. and 14... why...
The translator didn’t put any notes regarding it, they usually add any relevant notes, and they had the author's permission to translate the novel. I'll just wait for the other commenter to provide the source first before believing this.

haha i appreciate dragontl and their other translations, but as they shared in one dc server they apparently made that intentional change since the novel's reputation (intl) is already poor with the noncon as seen in its NU reviews, what more with the underage stuff.

I think they changed her age since some people think that 14 is too young to have s*x (the poison stuff or side effects)
she was 18 years old in the novel, why make her 14 here? also the mermaid was almost 200 years old so gorl wdym you're not mature enough
