Why!!!!! That's the worst place possible to leave it!!! She can't leave! Why did she notice her feelings now of all times! Why doesn't she understand that he's in love with her!!!???     What doesn't make more sense to me is that why she's not taking a valuable or two to sell so she can at least be well off when she leaves. I mean, this is the Victorian Era. Women were either part of nobility or they became prostitutes back then. There was really no in-between.

    That's what I thought. But, either she doesn't want the stigma of a "wife" leaving the house and being adopted by a rich couple (which, aside from all the interest of macabre in the Victorian Era was weird because once you were married you were basically seen as a grown woman), or, like every other manga, since she's the protagonist, she'll somehow get her land back because reasons. Mangas tend to do an ex-machine trope that wouldn't happen in real life. So there are two scenarios: 1) Be found by the vampiric count, or 2: Find her old home and live there. With these two options, she'll most likely deal with #1 because: Manga drama.
