I'm not sure if someone has already mentioned this or if I'm being that type of person who states the obvious since I only began reading this recently.. but I definitely feel like Riko either knows what Kanae did or is capable of doing. The way she won't hestiate when it comes to bullying her other friends/classmates yet after the Ichika situation, I noticed she doesn't target Kanae anymore, if anything, she tries to always look good in front of her (defending her, remembering her favourite drink, praising her, etc...) She gave the advice about "reading the room," and the "types of girl" there are to Tomiko, and she often seems disturbed whenever Kanae gets physically angry (both when she fought Ichika and Tomiko.) If I am correct, I do like the detail that another character can sense someone unstable that they rather not cross or make an enemy out of. Seems she used Ichika to mask her sadist tendencies while taking Kanae lightly in the beginning, purposefully provoking Ichika into bullying Kanae, then began noticing warning signs in Kanae's response. It seemed that after Kanae grabbed Ichika and snapped, Riko completely backed off and used Ichika to take the fall.
