Basically in Josen arc, it starts off with kihoon and yeon as kids and kihoon we learn that kihoon and yeon were originally not bound by the string of fate at all. They met as kids and Yeon overheard the story of red string rock and one day when kid kihoon was napping by it. Kid yeon tied the string to his and kihoon finger, which was a huge mistake bc originally kihoon fate was rise and stand alone in glory. Bc yeon basically disrupted his own fate AND kihoon fate it caused kihoons life to filled with misfortune. Kihoon original fate was to be taught by Yeon father in Josen period and become his retainer but bc Yeon tied the string, kihoon was picked up by the emperor brother who wanted a loyal dog so he could over throw his brother.

The two get separated as children but they found a way to see each other but yeon notices every time he see kihoons, he’s always badly injured and yk kihoon, also kihoon builds him a lil house so he don’t gotta sit in cold for him. Kihoon didn’t wanna tell yeon what he was really going through so one day yeon like
“Fuck this we’re gonna runaway ” and kihoon like “nah that’s lowkey a bad idea” then yeon kisses him and that’s enough for him to be on board and they ALMOST do runaway expect that yeon catches a fever bc it was snowing BAD. So kihoon takes him back home where the second prince is and is tweaking out yeon family’s servants(he’s not really important) he takes kihoon back with him. Yeon wakes up from his fever thinking kihoon died or sum and yearns for his supposedly dead bf til his adulthood

Fast forward like a couple years (hell if Ik fr)
Yeon an adult and he find out his supposedly dead bf is infact ALIVE and is the allegeded(he did that shi) homicidal child general that smiles while on battle field yeon had been hearing about for the past couple years. He hears this and goes shack and find kihoon there and ofc they haven’t seen each other in years so what’s the first thing they do? If you guessed BANG you’re half right. Yeon has a literal weapon so it like… doesn’t fit… but kihoon like “nah ima make it fit or else

Mind you Kihoon is bleeding outta his ass so Yeon(rightfully so) tweaks out and takes him. They play mind games for like 40 days and 40 nights, bang out their feelings and all is well until BOOM. Homophobe doesn’t know how to keep his mouth shut and randomly like literally unprovoked starts just goin off yeon for existing ig. Yeon “beats” up the homophobe(yeon got his shit rocked). Ofc kihoon find out about it and yeom confronts him and tells him to go get his shit together, and he does lol.

Kihoon kills the second prince which we found out he’s been planning on getting his get back since he was a KID. He been plottin to kill dat man lol. So kihoon goes back to yeon and he knows that even though he is a renowned general that everyone’s scared of. He’s still lowkey a threat so he can either go die quietly in a whole or go out with last hoorah and that monster in yeons pants. He picked what was in yeons pants ofc. They bang and yeon basically exposes kihoons whole plan about him knowing he’s gonna die bc guess what yeons dad was in on it the whole time. Once yeon found out his dad was apart of the whole scheme that set up by Tod(please get the reference). He straight makes his dad tell him everything. Yeon is taking all his frustration out on kinking bc kihoon was planning to just yk die and have everyone around yeon act like he didn’t exist and even found yeon a mf wife(yeon was extra pissy bout that). Kihoon is having midlife crisis as he’s getting absolutely destroy and realize “damn maybe I really do love this man”. Kihoon basically decided he’s gonna try to survive as long as he can so he can be with yeon.

Yeon basically straight up tells him. “We’re getting married and running away and we’re gonna be together in EVERY lifetime whether you like it or not

it was more romantic but I’m just summarizing). Kihoon like “bet” and the two prepare to runaway together but guess what. THE ROCK WAKES UP. THAT RIGHT THE ROCK IS SENTIENT AND WAS TAKIN NAP WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING.
The rock wakes up and is like “wtf?????” I mean this is what happens when you sleep on the job. The rock is like “y’all might be cooked ngl” and then they die but it’s okay cuz in their current life the rock was like “ok y’all cute butttttt…. Yeon did break the rules so yeon does have to suffer the consequences of his actions soooo one y’all gotta lose your memories and then y’all figure out the rest” and now we’re here
