Putting joke aside now. For some reason this feels like its supposed be a "bad" ending. Ian still remembers Jo simply just by doing the things they did together, Ian likes stargazing but tj calls it pathetic. Its as if Ian is meant to relapse back to his old addiction (aka tj), the smoking felt like that is part of the metaphor. Also with the fact Ian hasn't even traveled to the place he dream in those two years. He still holding himself back we still have that ringing around them that Ian said he didn't deserve Jo and that Jo deserves better. Like he settled for less. Wetsand. Like something thats too wet you cant get yourself out. Honestly im kinda annoyed we didn't get the meaning of the title. Maybe in a review if there is one.
Got to thank twitter joians, they pointed some things out and I just connected few of them and now see it as its supposed to be a bad ending because some noir stories do end with the MC going back to where they first started, meant to be stuck in a loop.
