I totally agree. And holding back to that effing cheating, lower-than-dirt scumbag takes a lot. Damn. I rarely get annoyed with an antagonist, but this character gets me every time he shows up in a panel.

Y’all acting like jk’s change should be a straight line process but that’s actually not realistic at all, this is more realistic. He needs to unlearn YEARS of coping mechanisms and right now he feels like everything is going to shit, of course it’s sad for Dan but we can see that at least now he felt bad when he saw Dan reaction unlike before when he didn’t care at all.
The guy is trying to change all on his own with no one to guide him and make him understand his emotions. He is like a wounded puppy barking at everyone, he doesn’t want to hold Dan back but at the same time it hurts him to see him leave, one of his biggest fear is happening and he cant do anything but hold back.
Obviously he will get better and learn to navigate his feelings but it won’t happen in a few days and that’s normal.
