it def feels more realistic I think the length of this story helps too, healing takes time and is not linear no amount of trauma will make what he's done okay, but working on honesty in the future is a step to rebuild his relationships :')
I mean this is pretty close to reality. Hard shifts without any relapses would be a fairytale. Im annoyed but I can appreciate what the authors doing here.
