I mean most people in the world lose their virginity between ages 12-17 and the age of consent in Japan at one point was 13. That means anyone under 18 can technically be with a 13 year old if they consented to it. The most common age of consent is 16 or 18 so that’s usually the standard but kids have sex. Not all mangakas are adults and sometimes (here’s a weird thought) they write for teens to explore their own sexuality in a safe environment (books) rather than going out and finding anyone who will fuck then despite being a minor. I know that I explored my own sexuality through books but when I had my first time, I had no idea what was happening and was confused and hurt and shocked because I had nothing to tell me what’s gonna happen. Books helped me retroactively understand what’s good and what’s bad and what different sexualities and kinks and fetishes are and consent and how to say no and stuff. All very important things. It normalised the crushes I had on friends of the same sex. So no, not everything is made for you. If you don’t like this type of content, read the tags and avoid it. This is the childhood friends tag aka most of all of them are teens and young adults. No one is forcing you to consume this if it feels uncomfortable to read it. I understand as adults, it’s uncomfortable and kinda gross to even think of kids that way but we aren’t reading for the sex but the plot and they are legally fine to be together.

Girl it's not that deep I'm just saying it's weird to portray teenagers like this, which is a fact. If this was a boy X girl made in the USA y'all would be fuming. You talked about age of consent, well in my country is 14. Do you think those kids should be having sex? I understand that they need to learn about these things but no! It isn't healthy at all learning about sex through this type of stories because makes you have unrealistic expectations and overall disappointment when you actually do it. And yes, it is gross because I'm 99% sure it was an adult making this for another adults, don't be naive just because you feel like being it.

First of all, you’re the one making it that deep. Second of all, I don’t live in America so that comment is useless to me. Third of all, the American president just said a 6 year old girl is “of age” so anything American automatically is a red flag to me considering they are breaking the Geneva convention laws with ICE. Kids will have sex. That’s just a fact of life. The more you hide it, the more likely it is that they will have it. I mean toddlers play with their own genitals without even knowing what it is and just know “wow this feels good” and keep doing it. Avoiding that fact just makes it worse. Also, I was drawing comics like this when I was a young teen. So yes, I do know for a fact that some mangakas are underage too. Also, in JAPAN where this was made, JAPANESE CHILDREN read manga and JAPANESE CHILDREN read BL. Some are considered 18+ and are in the “forbidden” part of the manga store but some of them are just out on the shelf and you can pick up and read it and it’s considered a 15+ because lightsabers. The censorship actually can lower its age rating. And once again, it’s not for everyone to read and enjoy. At any point in time, you could have stopped reading or you could have just chosen something else to begin with. You’re the one being naive by thinking that it’s only adults who can be successful authors and artists and write smut. I’ve been writing smut since I was 13 which is soon after I lost my virginity. I have been quite successful both then and now with smut about both adult couples and teen couples. Adults are not the only ones who read smut and if you think they are, you are sorely mistaken. I’ve been watching movies and reading books and playing games with 18+ ratings since I was 6. It’s usually a suggestion not a law (at least until recently).

And once again, if YOU are uncomfortable, don’t subject yourself to stuff that makes YOU uncomfortable and then complain about it. It wasn’t made for you and that’s fine. There’s a trillion other things out there that WILL be a good match for you. It’s okay if things aren’t your preference.

I'm also not from America but whatever... I'm so sorry that society failed you and it's failing those kids to the point this is where they need to learn about their sexuality and things related to that. It's NOT a flex or any healthy for that matter to read porn (smut is porn, you wanting it or not) at such a young age. I'm only saying that it's weird to draw TEEANGERS having sex, that's it. I did not mention anything else. Yes, I do know it's normal for teenagers to have sex but it's not because something is common that it should be normal, right? Maybe to you. It’s in literally every form of media though. Songs talk about it, books talk about it, comics talk about it, games talk about it and movies and tv series show it. It’s normal because like I said, they need something to reference during a very chaotic time in their life where they know nothing. As an adult, you can feel uncomfortable seeing that and YOU can avoid it but to try to make it sound like it should be a taboo is a wild take. I’d rather them read a yaoi or watch a coming of age film than watch porn and get addicted to all the wrong things or go into sex completely unprepared and get freaked out when inevitably something goes wrong. It’s YOUR responsibility to cater your experience online to YOUR preferences. Not anyone else’s. You’re assumedly a grown adult who has the ability to choose whether or not to do or read something and can stop when something doesn’t feel right to you. Like I said, it’s not for everyone and if it’s not for you, it’s not for you. That’s just the long and short of it. You don’t have to read every single book.

Completely agree with you and some people are just hypocrites if they think it will make this kind of works more « legitimate » by making great speeches and some big ass reply when they are IN FACTS missing the whole point of the argument and are trying to avoid the real problem. I agree it is kinda weird cuz they’re not adults yet but ig its natural and they’re not super young and this story isn’t real so idrc. I wouldn’t worry too much if it happened irl either as long as they weren’t RLY young, there was consent, and they were being safe but its also none of my business lol
