Sometimes when authors add unnecessary rape scenes, I tend to hate the author more than the character because who else made them that way, you know , and I keep liking the character since I tell myself well you were great until this because you’ve been sabotage by your creator,

it’s especially annoying when a character would be good for a really long time and then boom he’s a rapist and then he goes back to being his ordinary self since it’s so out of character. I feel like sometimes it’s valid to just not count it as one of their characteristics because they were done so wrong my the author.
