So both our MLs are facing clinical depression due to their awful circumstances, Baekhee is scared of his criminal dad coming out of jail because he will definitely kill him for being a witness against his case and eventually being convicted bc of his son declaration, meanwhile Yang Ilwoo battles his suicidal thoughts after leaving Seoul in a spree avoiding his cousins who are onto him as he took the insurance money of his parents deaths, this money belongs to him but his cousins (and aunt) ofc think otherwise (awfully violent and abusive fam). On top of that Baekhee is being systematically raped by his classmate in order to survive, his classmate has promised him to take him outta town and will take him to Seoul so his father never finds him. Yang Ilwoo is now realizing how in love he is of Baekhee and cannot stand seeing him being abused just for a promise, Baekhee is also in love with Yang and feels like he cannot sustain the codependent relationship he has with this classmate... they don't know what to do and how to face both their opressive contexts. It's appalling. But they both now reciprocate each other's feelings, they are starting to understand what love feels, just don't know what to do to fight their way out of the shithole society has put them in. Man this is depressing af I wanna cry
