And I must say...it's like a palate cleanser. The last 5 or so stories I've been reading were all fairly...gloomy? World-ending threats, ruthless "survival of the fittest" families and alliances, constant struggle for survival... Stuff like that. I'm on chapter 47 at the moment, and I like the change of pace. A loving family, conflicts that aren't as gloomy and serious, etc.
At first I thought I wouldn't like a story like this, but the characters are pretty likeable. It's also nice that it has a female MC for once. And not one that immediately becomes a constant damsel in distress either. (or at least not yet.) I can see why so many people have liked this story so far. :)
