and it’s even more obvious if you noticed how he actually don’t like the younger girl genuinely. She looks up to him and is dependent on him in a sense. She makes him feel superior. It satisfies his vain ego, which something he lost long ago. To her, he is not the debt stricken, useless bum. He is a mature guy whose ex-wife can’t get over. I don’t understand why i even got downvotes when he is not even that interesting of a character or a character that is hard to understand. There are so many men like him irl.

I think people are terribly confused about Mincheol talking about how he was such a good guy and feeling pity for what happened to him. Well, i don’t! It is very obvious that he had a hero complex, something of that sort. He was always put on a pedestal in high school, the popular guy who was equally good in studies. Tall and goodlooking. You can totally picture what that does to a high school boy’s psyche. He probably felt infallible. And there comes the pretty poverty-stricken girl who is naive and abused, and saving her probably stroke his ego. He thought he could achieve anything but reality hit him hard and lost what he always had, which ofcourse turned him into this miserable person.
