I had the same thought. The Russian nonamed and his guide made it sound like nonameds are literally part of the gate. Based on how our nonamed esper was found naked, abandoned in the snow when he was a kid, my guess is that nonamed espers are all nonhumans. And that they were all dropped into earth in order to trigger gates. Maybe the big assumption will be that nonamed espers cause gates, so if the nonameds are killed or go back into the gate, no more gates will appear. But that will be a fallacy that only works to drive angst. Or if the assumption is true, then the guide will join the esper in the gate and either die together, or the gate leads them to another world. If the nonameds are human, then they were experiments, and the experiment backfired and caused the gates. Either way, the nonameds are tied to the gates

Idk if this is a spoiler or not, but I have a theory about the nomads and gates. I don’t think they are human. The mc (and potentially the ml’s brother) and all the other nomads are probably some entities that bring/cause the gates to happen. That’s why when the Russia nomad died, Russia hasn’t have many/any gate occurrences. Then again, It makes you wonder if the nomads are replaceable? Given it seems like each country has one nomad but if the ml’s brother is a nomad (given his unknown background) and the mc is still around, why hasn’t Russia’s dead nomad been replaced? Either way, I think it’s safe to say that the mc will have to die (either him or the mc’s brother) if the country focuses on getting rid of gates completely (which is understandable and logical but then again, there’s too much unknown when it comes to nomads and their direct relations to gates).
