Honestly, I think the author needed more time to bake the story some more, maybe more research about BDSM (bdsm with no safe word, and also with someone who never BDSMed before? Yeah, faul), or how Andy character be. I'm not even sure if the author wanted to make Andy as an autistic or asshole. Someone who can't help the way he is or he knew the way but decided not to.
