When he gets his memories back he feels conflicted about being deceived by her and stays for a bit before “killing” her when she confesses her love for him. He thinks he killed her but she survives. But at that point in the story where he killed her, she was so in love with him, she heals up and follows him to his “home”. The chae-woo that had no memories is actually still in him and fighting back against the real chae-woo that killed his wife. It’s a lot. I remember throwing my phone around in anger at how much he deny’s his other self that loves her.
