So basically FL's mother gave birth to FL, but because she was born with black hair like usual commoners, everyone including FL's father suspected that the mother cheated and gave birth to an illegitimate child. Because of everyone's (mostly her husband's) words and all, FL's mother actually cheated and slept with a blonde man to give birth to Lunetta (the 2nd daughter) who was born with blonde hair and everyone thought she was the actual daughter!
The mother hates/dislikes FL's father (probably because of his behavior because I hate him too) so she was strict with FL (to strengthen FL's power to make the father feel regret) and lenient with Lunetta (because she didn't care if she became strong or not).
I still hate the father more. He's the one who basically went FL's not his bloodline, treated the mother horribly (until she gave birth to Lunetta), basically sold off FL to someone he considers inferior and only so his kids cannot have magic without caring how it would impact FL, also basically considers Lunetta a tool for his family name without actually caring for her (saying that she should marry a man with stronger magic and give birth to a child with strong magic for the family name to prosper, without a single care for her).
